Today, as the Senate bids farewell to our 2009 legislative interns, we would like to take a moment to recognize our Republican Staff interns, Catherine Smith and Jennifer Bollig.

The legislative internship is comprised of an important and select group of individuals who represent our future and have served the Senate well.

These students were selected not only for their interest in the political process, but also for their commitment to academic achievement. We are lucky to have each and every one of them, and we appreciate their hard work this session.

Although their service comes at an unprecedented time and unique circumstances facing our state, they have met each day with enthusiasm and professionalism. We would like to thank them for their commitment and willingness to learn.

We wish them the best as they move forward in their careers and in their studies.
