As Chairman of the Senate committee on Healthcare and Medical Liability Reform, I would like to recognize May as National Stroke Awareness Month. Stroke is the third leading cause of death in the United States following other heart disease and cancer, and while there are different types of stroke, preventative measures can be taken.
It is proven that heart health directly relates to stroke risk, and the best thing you can do for yourself is keep your heart healthy. To learn more about stroke, risk factors, and preventative measures, please visit the National Stroke Association’s website. http://www.stroke.org/
