Lawmakers from around the country have elected Sen. Pamela Gorman to serve as the 2009-2010 NCSL Standing Committee Chair for the Executive Committee.

“With the startling direction this Congress is taking, it is more important than ever for state lawmakers to be active in organizations such as NCSL where states’ rights are a priority,” Gorman said.

The Executive Committee drives the organization by supervising and controlling the affairs of the conference, its committees, and publications, as well as deciding the organization’s ultimate positions on matters of public policy.
