Senate President Pearce Selects Richard Stertz for Redistricting Commission

Senate President Russell Pearce announced today he has selected Richard Stertz to serve on the Arizona Independent Redistricting Commission.

“Mr. Stertz is fair-minded and steadfast, and will be an outstanding member of the Redistricting Commission,” says Pres. Pearce.

Stertz, a Republican, lives in Tucson, and attended the University of Arizona. He is the CEO of Vision 360/4 Tucson. Stertz also serves on the Tucson Police Foundation and the Sam Hughes Neighborhood Action Committee.

Mr. Stertz has lived in Arizona since 1981, and has worked in restaurant design, retail management, architecture and residential development.

“I had to make a difficult choice between two outstanding men. Members of the Commission will serve together for the next ten years, and it will move in the right direction with the addition of Rick Stertz,” says Pres. Pearce.

“This is a critical commission, and Legislative leadership is making these important appointments for the future of our great state.”

“The fact that I was able to select Mr. Stertz is also a direct result of our court challenge. This was a critical issue in law to allow real choice for the IRC. The law is clear and having real choices is critical for Arizona and the process.”
