On January 7th Senator Kelli Ward was honored to receive the 2012 Woman of the Year award from the London Bridge Republican Women’s Club. This award honors women in Lake Havasu City who exemplify Republican principles through their words and actions, and Senator Ward is the perfect example of someone who does just that.
She moved to Arizona in 1999 and has been serving the state and her community ever since. After her family moved to Lake Havasu City, Senator Ward served as chairman of the board of Calvary Christian Academy, the school her two younger children attended. She returned to school to complete her Master of Public Health degree with an emphasis in health policy after she completed a year-long health policy fellowship.
Dr. Ward started Lakeview Family Health Care with her mother, Dr. Lorraine Byrd, and after ten years of private practice sold her medical practice to North County Community Healthcare. Dr. Ward continued to work there for two years as a staff physician in the Emergency Departments in both Lake Havasu City and Kingman.
Having served her community for many years, Senator Ward felt compelled to continue her service as a voice for the people of Legislative District 5. As senator, she is dedicated to lowering taxes, limiting government, upholding the constitution, and promoting personal responsibility.
She believes that the reliance on conservative principles and values strengthen families and our state. She is pro-life, pro-family, and pro-freedom, and she holds firm to these core principles.
Senator Ward exemplifies Republican ideals through her faithful and diligent service to her community as well as the state of Arizona.
