FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
President Fann selects Douglas York for Redistricting Commission
(Phoenix, State Capitol) ---- Senate President Karen Fann today announced her selection of Douglas York to serve on the Independent Redistricting Commission (IRC). York is President and Chief Executive Officer of Ewing Irrigation & Landscape Supply, a family-owned distribution company, and he oversees operations for more than 220 branch locations in 26 states. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Southern California.
"I had the opportunity to meet with all ten of the Republican finalists for the IRC," said President Fann. "All of them were highly qualified and it was a difficult decision. My choice is Douglas York. He understands the challenges Arizona faces in the next decade. He's lived here since 1987 and knows the growth patterns of Arizona. Mr. York has a sincere interest in serving the state. I am confident he will work collaboratively with other commission members to develop a fair outcome to the redistricting process."
In addition to his work at Ewing Irrigation, York has served as the president of the Irrigation Association. He is also past president of the International Association of Plastics Distributors and formerly served as an executive board member for the Arizona Landscape Contractors Association.
